Uninstall a specific Windows Update

  • Go in Windows Control Panel > Programs & Features and select View Installed Updates (left hand pane).

    Browse the update list and Uninstall the required update.
    Your computer may need to reboot.

Prevent a specific Windows Update to install

If Windows proposes you an update that you don’t want to install.

  • Download the "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter package from the Microsoft website.

  • Run the troubleshooter and click on 'Advanced' and make sure to check the box for "Apply repairs automatically."

  • Click Next, and then choose Hide updates.

  • Select the update you want to prevent from installing from the list provided and click Next.

  • Complete the troubleshooter steps, and the selected update should be hidden and will not be installed.
